Each club is slightly different, based on the girls participating. The typical club meets once a week with each week a piece of a large project is worked on in teams. There is no homework assigned, but the girls tend to work on the projects on their own time. A facilitator assists the students and leads the discussions on learning. We found very early on that the girls who participated were more excited to work together to solve problems, preferred not to compete, but collaborate and did not like being blindly throw into a project. Our program was designed around enhancing these traits found in females to ensure a more engaging learning environment.
